Impact Society
September 30, 2009
The Impact Society, based in Alberta, was introduced to Prelude by Resiliency Initiatives, a Heliotrope partner. As a result, the Impact Society is planning to pilot Prelude in conjunction with its Heroes Program. Its senior management believes Prelude can be an ideal experiential focal point for its award-winning program. The pilots will also be using Resiliency Initiatives’ assessment tool as this is a part of the Heroes Program.
The Impact Society is a leader in character education within western Canada. Over the past 14 years, the Heroes Program has been used by over 40,000 youth in Alberta, B.C. and Saskatchewan. The Impact Society, with the support of the TransCanda Corporation, is introducing its programs to schools in the rest of Canada. It goal is to train 4500 teachers over the next five years. Prelude piloting will commence in January 2010 with two Middle Schools in the Calgary School Board. The goal is to integrate Prelude in this national roll out.
