New Prelude Logo
March 5, 2009
We are pleased to introduce Prelude’s very first logo and tagline. Designed by noted illustrator and artist J.W. Stewart, the new Prelude logo tells a ‘micro’ animated story with delicacy and whimsy. Prelude has four game activity modules. Therefore Prelude now has a ‘meta’ logo and tagline as well as four sub logos for each module. Seen together, they ingeniously encapsulate the overall learning game goals and process.
The ‘meta’ logo features a circle divided into four ’slices’ of color. This conveys a sense of movement and turning. The fine white undulating lines separating these slices reinforce this. Each sub logo is linked to the Meta logo by use of the same four-fold circle, color scheme, and tagline.
Module 1 Keynote features only the upper right hand corner filled in with color. The other three slices are grey. With each successive module, another slice is colored in. With allTag there’s completion.
The subliminal idea is that the four-slice circle turns towards the star, which represents the fifth element, quintessence. This concept lies at the symbolic heart of Prelude, which helps reveal a player’s four elemental qualities and therefore what quintessence means for them in their lives, studies, and work.
We hope you like the new Prelude logo as much as we do! For more about J.W. Stewart’s brilliant work, please visit http://www.jwstewart.net
