Visionary Social Enterprise Incubators

MaRS
MaRS is a unique enterprise innovation incubator in the heart of downtown Toronto. It provides client enterprises with access to invaluable resources — people, programs, physical facilities, funding and networks. A client since January 08, Heliotrope has received crucial support from several areas within the organization. This includes the Social Innovation Generator [SiG@MaRS], MaRS Venture, and the MaRS Advisory. As well, we’ve participated in several MaRS events including the Social Enterprise Summit. Two recent developments are worth sharing. MaRS has written a wonderful article about our work for its website. The article – “Bringing in the sun – Heliotrope’s journey to the classroom and beyond” was also featured in the MaRS August newsletter, which is sent to several thousand subscribers.
The Centre for Social Innovation
CET is a social enterprise with a mission to catalyze social innovation in its home base of Toronto and around the globe. It occupies over 20,000 square feet of incredible energy and creativity generated by the many social enterprises renting working space and related services. CET has been an advisor and supporter of Heliotrope’s work since September 2006. CET also introduced Heliotrope to MaRS.
