Program: First Year Business
Description: Prelude was piloted in March 09 with 40 first year students, either in IT or Business studies. This orientation program is designed to foster positive outcomes for self-management, teamwork, leadership, motivation, and using technology for online work group collaboration. All students are working full time and studying in evening classes. Prelude was then piloted in October 2009 with teacher trainees. In May 2009, forty UAE college students and Canadian high school students shared Prelude learning game experiences by videoconference. Given these successes, Prelude is now being introduced into the first year curriculum. The cross-cultural exchange program is being expanded as well. Maureen Cocksedge, a Business Faculty Professor, facilitated the game throughout.
